The draw for the Semi-Final stages of the Champions League has been completed this afternoon in Nyon with four teams now dreaming of making the final in Kiev this May.
The tie of the round will be Bayern Munich who will take on current Champions League holders Real Madrid, with Los Blancos trying to make it three wins in a row.
Liverpool will face Italian side AS Roma, with the Red’s confident they can make it to the final in Kiev on May 27th.
The last-eight saw some memorable games with many hoping the last-four ties can produce the same level of drama up to the final itself.
Liverpool knocked out tournament favourites and Premier League rivals Man City 5-1 on aggregate to reach the last four. Many didn’t expect the Red’s to win so comfortably considering they trail City 17 points in the league.
Roma produced the best and shock result of the last eight. Trailing Barcelona 4-1 from the first-leg in the Nou Camp, the Romans had to win 3-0 for any chance to go through. And on a night of drama, they produced one of the most memorable results in the history of the Champions League.
Bayern produced a professional display against La Liga side Sevilla coming through 2-1 on aggregate after doing most of the hard work in the away leg in Spain.
Real Madrid produced some late drama after Juventus almost matched Roma’s achievements from the previous night taking Real to 3-0 with almost the last kick of the game. With the tie at 3-3 on aggregate, it seemed the Old Lady were close to taking the current holders to extra time. However, a late penalty from Ronaldo in the 98th minute secured Real’s 8th semi-final in a row.
