Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has ruled out moving away from Old Trafford this summer.
De Gea has emerged as one of the top goalkeepers in world football since arriving at Old Trafford back in 2011, and that has led to speculation of a return to Spain amid Real’s continued interest over the last two years.
The 26-year-old came close to moving to the Bernabeu in 2015 only be disappointed by a hold up in the paper work for the deal.
However, Spanish outlet Don Balon now claims that De Gea has made it very clear that he has no intention of quitting Old Trafford and that has led do Real president Florentino Perez accepting that Keylor Navas will be their number one keeper when the new La Liga campaign gets underway.
And for that reason he is apparently out of Perez’s reach – for this summer at least.
Don Balon also suggest Thibaut Courtois would fancy a move to Real from Chelsea, but Zinedine Zidane has faith in Navas and is happy to keep him as his No.1 goalkeeper.
And Perez has conceded that bringing in a replacement is not on the cards anytime soon.
De Gea will be lining up today for Manchester United in their home Premier League opener against West Ham United.
The Red Devil’s will be looking to get all three points at home against the Hammers, and will be hoping for a better league campaign this time out after finishing 6th in the league last term.
United Manager Mourinho has said in his pre-match conference ahead of the game that he is on fire and ready to mount a serious title challenge this term.
