Premier League giants Liverpool are plotting a move for RB Leipzig and Germany striker Timo Werner during this summers transfer window.
The Independent are reporting that several Premier League clubs including Manchester United are interested in signing Timo Werner, but it is understood Jurgen Klopp is clear favourite to snap up the German international striker.
If Werner does decide to join Liverpool this summer, then it will mean the Red’s will complete a double swoop on RB Leipzig with a deal for Naby Keita already agreed between both parties.
Other teams outside the Premier League like Atletico Madrid are also keen on the 22-year-old striker as they will seek a replacement for the soon to be departed Antoine Griezmann.
It seems with Klopp’s German links and willingness to get a deal done make Liverpool are out as the clear favourites. With a large chunk of the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona still available to them.
Reports in Spainish publication Don Balon are also suggesting Liverpool are keen on signing the German international with Philippe Coutinho already telling his new Barcelona team-mates that Werner is expected to join up with his old side this summer.
Reports in Spain had earlier linked Werner to Madrid giants Atletico and Real, however, it seems Coutinho may have some inside information regarding the player from his connections with Liverpool.
Werner, who joined Rb Leipzig from Vfb Stuttgart in 2016 has been in fantastic goalscoring form with RB over the last few seasons. He has made 55 appearances for the club, scoring 31 goals in total.
In 2017 the 22-year-old striker made his full international debut for Germany. He has won a total of 10 caps, scoring 7 goals. We expect him to be part of the 23-man squad for the World Cup in Russia this summer.
