Real Madrid and Spain midfielder Lucas Vazquez has decided to join up with Champions League finalist opponents Liverpool during this summers transfer window.
Spanish publication Don Balon is reporting that the Liverpool boss has convinced Lucas Vazquez to make the move across to Merseyside this summer with a guarantee of first-team football on offer.
The Reds have also decided to match his current salary of £85,000 per-week which he currently pockets at Real.
Vazquez, who has been a bit part player in Zinedine Zidane’s first-eleven this season has scored eight goals, laid on 16 assists in just 27 games for Los Blancos this term. Even with his impressive form, he has not been given the confidence by the French manager of being a regular in the first-team.
Only recently he was used as a make-shift right-back due to injuries to key players. It seems he is only being used as a backup and making the first-team when the team is suffering from major injuries.
It is clear sure how much a transfer fee for the 26-year-old Spanish international will be, with some reports suggesting Real may use him in any deal to try and get Mohamed Salah. There are also rumours that Real President Florentino Perez is looking to offer Liverpool goalkeeper Keylor Navas and Vazquez in a deal to reduce Mohamed Salah’s fee.
Both teams will get a close hand look at each other’s players on May the 26th when they come up against each other in Kiev for the final of the Champions League.
Liverpool will have the chance to claim their 6th Champions League crown, while Real will be aiming for a 13th crown and making it three titles in a row.
