Manchester United are prepared to break the bank to land Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain this summer by offering the player a £625k a-week deal to move to Old Trafford.
Spanish publication Don Balon is reporting that Jose Mourinho is willing to pay £200m for the player and offer Neymar a £625k a-week in a bid to temp the Brazilian international to make the move to Old Trafford this summer.
It is reported that United will get financial help from main shirt sponsor Chevron to finance the jaw busting deal. The US carmaker is keen to break into the Asian market and see Neymar as the ideal man to help them increase sales in China and the Far East. Such a deal would help United avoid coming under UEFA’s FFP regulations just as Paris Saint-Germain did when they signed the Brazilian last summer.
A chance for PSG to make the money back they spent on Neymar and avoid UEFA sanctions may just be too tempting to turn down should an offer come in this summer.
Real Madrid are also rumoured to be interested in the 26-year-old Brazil striker. However, they will most likely have to sell players in order to raise funds to make the deal happen. United, on the other hand, seems the only club to have the financial muscle to make this deal happen.
Jose Mourinho is looking to add much-needed firepower to his United front line next season in order to challenge Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. A forward line of Alexis Sanchez, Neymar and Romelu Lukaku would certainly be up their with the likes of Man City and Liverpool in terms of goalscoring.
With a watertight defence, surely United will challenge for the Premier League and Champions League should Neymar arrive at Old Trafford.
