Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing up a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema this summer with former club Lyon also in the running.
French website Le10Sport are reporting that the big spending Paris giants are looking to make a move for Benzema this summer, bringing him back home to his native France.
Benzema, has had a poor season by his standards so far, only scoring three goals in La Liga this term. Many Real Madrid fans have become frustrated with his performances and they have called for the club to sell him.
His hometown club Lyon along with Marseille and Monaco are also interested in bringing back the 30-year-old French international back to France.
People close to Benzema are sure the forward would jump at the chance to move back home to France after becoming upset by the constant criticism he has faced in Spain this season.
Benzema, has spent almost 10-years in Spain with Real Madrid since his €35m move back in July 2009. He has made a total of 262 appearances for the club, scoring 125 goals in the process.
On the international stage he has won 81 caps, scoring 27 goals for his country. He will be hoping to make the final 23 for France squad for the World Cup this summer, however, with his poor form this season there is a risk he could be overlooked and miss out all together.
Despite his lack of form for Real this season, many clubs and scouts believe he still has a lot to offer at the age of 30. Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United have held a long interest in the striker and could also make a move this summer if Real make him available.
