Real Madrid are targetting a move for Tottenham and France World Cup-winning captain Hugo Lloris as they search for a new number one.
British publication The Sun is reporting that the European Champions have now turned their attention’s to Hugo Lloris after impressing in this summers World Cup Finals by captaining his nation to their second world title.
The Los Blancos have been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper for almost two-years with names such as David De Gea, Thibaut Courtois and Alisson Becker all linked to the European Champions in recent months.
Reports suggest that Real will bid in the region of £60m for the 31-year-old France captain. However, we understand with Liverpool’s recent purchase of Alisson Becker for £67m, Tottenham will demand a similar or bigger fee for their number one choice keeper.
With only two weeks left of the English transfer window, it is highly unlikely Spurs will consider selling on one of their main star players.
Real Madrid was expected to tie up the signing of Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois this summer who is keen on a return back to the Spanish capital. However, Chelsea are not budging and insist the player is not for sale. With one-year left on his deal, Courtois can walk away from the West London club next summer.
The Belgium international is keen to return to Madrid where he played for arch-rivals Atletico between 2011-2014. His wife and kids still live in the Spanish capital with the player keen on making a move to be closer to his family.
It now means Real Madrid will either have to settle on keeping on Keylor Navas as their number one goalkeeper or look at alternative targets such as Lloris.
